Allelewise

Terms of Use

Last updated: October 28, 2026 · Draft for legal review

The operator’s legal identity, country and public contact address have not yet been provided. These draft notices describe the current service but need those details and qualified legal review before being relied on as final policies.

1. Using Allelewise

Allelewise offers educational genetic exploration, not a clinical testing or healthcare service. Please read these terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Medical & AI Disclaimer before using the service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use Allelewise.

2. Accounts and responsible use

Keep your login credentials secure and use accurate account information. Do not impersonate others, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with the service, bypass safeguards, or use it unlawfully. Only import genetic files and saved reports that you are legally entitled and authorized to use. Do not submit another person’s genetic information without appropriate authority and consent.

3. Educational reports, not medical decisions

Reports, labels, scores, and explanations are not diagnoses, validated individual risk estimates, or treatment recommendations. Consumer genetic tests can contain errors, and a limited marker set cannot rule out disease or establish protection. Do not change medication, supplements, treatment, or screening based on Allelewise. Ask a qualified clinician or genetic counsellor whether clinical-grade confirmation is appropriate.

4. Imported reports and AI

Promethease and saved SNPedia explanations are imported source material, not newly verified interpretations. Allelewise does not verify report allele orientation. Original Good/Bad labels and magnitude rankings are not clinical evidence grades or personal risk scores.

Helix provides general AI-generated explanations of a public gene symbol or marker ID and a preset topic. It does not receive your genotype or report, scan your whole report, or assess your personal health risk. Answers may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated and are not a live sourced literature review.

5. Files, downloads and third-party material

Genetic workspace data remains in browser memory rather than being saved in your account. Refreshing, closing the tab, or signing out discards the workspace. You are responsible for securely keeping your original files and downloads. Downloaded PDFs are not password-protected and are outside Allelewise’s control.

You retain rights to your own files. Third-party report text, research, trademarks and other materials retain their respective rights and licence restrictions. Importing material does not grant permission to redistribute it or use it commercially. Allelewise is not presented as affiliated with or endorsed by 23andMe, Ancestry, Promethease or SNPedia.

6. Availability and limitations

The service may change, be interrupted, or contain errors. To the extent permitted by applicable law, it is provided as available without guarantees of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. Nothing in these terms excludes mandatory consumer rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

7. Changes and contact

Changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page. Material changes may require additional notice or consent under applicable law. Operator identity, legal contact details, and any applicable jurisdiction-specific terms remain to be supplied before this draft is finalized.
